Ascenso Monarca – Rise, Lead, Inspire

Empoderando a la próxima generación. Comparte tu conocimiento. Crea un impacto duradero.

At Sueño Monarca, we use "Ascenso" to signify promotion, ascent, and growth within a network of community. Through Ascenso Monarca, we connect immigrant youth and young professionals with mentors who have real-world experience in fields like beauty, mechanics, business, education, and more.

We have built our first team of 4 incredible mentors and are ready to expand the program to schools and youth agencies!
Now is the time to get involved and become a connection for a youth to meet their full potential!

  • Mentoring for Mental Health and Resilience: As a first-generation Licensed Professional Counselor, I specialize in mentoring youth on mental health, emotional wellness, and life skills.

Ready to grow? Our mentorship program can help! We’re proud to feature Haydee Martinez-Rosales, a highly skilled therapist specializing in trauma-informed care and a range of evidence-based therapies. With extensive experience supporting adolescents, adults, and families, Haydee is an invaluable resource.

  • Mental Health, Advocacy, and Support: I specialize in providing mental health support and using my bilingual skills to help Spanish-speaking families navigate challenging systems.

Meet Jasmin, a dedicated mentor from Riverwoods, IL! As a first-gen college student from an immigrant family, she understands the challenges of navigating school and career decisions alone. With experience in medical billing and customer service, Jasmin brings compassion, real-world insight, and a deep commitment to helping her mentee feel seen, supported, and empowered.

  • Mentoring for First-Gen Students: I'm a Program Assistant dedicated to helping first-generation students navigate the education system and build a path to their dream career.

Meet one of our incredible mentors — a first-gen college grad, former college counselor, and current Program Assistant at a Learning & Career Center.
She knows firsthand how confusing college can be — from enrollment to registration to all the questions you don’t even know to ask yet. She’s here to help you through it all, share what she’s learned, and support your dreams, even if your family doesn’t fully understand them yet.

  • Charting Your Path in Law and Advocacy: I'm a Project Manager at Sidley Austin, LLP and I specialize in the technical side of the legal industry, but I'm also here to mentor you on immigration advocacy and higher education policy.

Meet one of our dedicated mentors, a first-generation college graduate and Project Manager from Chicago, Roberto! Now living in Joliet, he’s passionate about helping others navigate their professional journeys. He’s here to offer guidance on everything from applying to grad school to negotiating your first job offer. His lived experience as an immigrant gives him a unique understanding of the challenges and triumphs you may face.
